Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School

Are you passionate about supporting the learning and development of young people? Do you have experience working with children or young adults, and a commitment to inclusive education?

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join our secondary school community. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping students with additional needs access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide tailored in-class support to students with SEND

  • Support teaching staff in delivering differentiated learning activities

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Deliver targeted interventions on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting (preferably secondary)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management

  • The ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
