SEN Stars Needed – Support Pupils with Autism and SLD

 Job Type: Full-time (Term-Time Only)

Are you passionate about supporting autistic children to thrive in a nurturing, specialist environment?

We are recruiting on behalf of an outstanding autism specialist school that is seeking a dedicated Autism Support Specialist to join their dynamic, child-centred team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with autism

  • Implement individualised education and behaviour plans

  • Use strategies such as PECS, Makaton, TEACCH, or sensory integration (training provided if needed)

  • Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, and therapists to ensure holistic support

  • Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with autism (in school, care, or support settings)

  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and SEN

  • Desirable: Training in Autism-specific approaches (e.g., PECS, Makaton)
