No Two Days the Same! – Day-to-Day Teaching Assistant | Durham

Durham | September 2026 | Primary Schools | โฐ Day-to-Day & Flexible

Looking for flexibility? Fancy something different every day?

Milk Education is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to join our supply team across Durham!

If you enjoy working with children but don’t want to be tied to the same classroom every day, supply could be perfect for you.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a range of welcoming Primary Schools, supporting different year groups, teachers and pupils. One day could involve helping with reading in Year 2, another could see you supporting a Year 6 maths lesson or helping a class get creative with an afternoon activity!

Every day brings something new – and you get to make a difference wherever you go.

What Could You Be Doing?

  • Supporting teachers with day-to-day classroom activities.
  • Working with individuals or small groups to boost confidence and learning.
  • Helping pupils with reading, writing and maths.
  • Supporting classroom routines and creating a positive learning environment.
  • Encouraging children to be independent, confident and engaged.
  • Helping with creative, practical and outdoor activities.
  • Stepping into different classrooms and adapting quickly to new environments.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff.

Who Would This Suit?

This role could be perfect if you’re:

  • A graduate looking to gain classroom experience.
  • ‍ An aspiring teacher wanting to experience different schools.
  • Experienced in childcare, nursery or education.
  • Someone with volunteering or placement experience with children.
  • An experienced Teaching Assistant looking for flexible supply work.
  • Someone looking to fit work around other commitments.
  • Friendly, reliable, confident and passionate about working with children.

Previous school experience is desirable, but we’re also interested in candidates who can demonstrate the right attitude, transferable skills and a genuine passion for education.

Why Choose Supply?

Flexibility. Variety. Experience. Opportunity.

Supply allows you to discover different schools, build your confidence and gain valuable experience without committing to one setting.
