Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in school? A welcoming and inclusive SEND‑focused school in North Liverpool is looking for a committed General Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and genuinely motivated to make a difference in the lives of children with Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

• Providing 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with autism and SEMH

• Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparation, and classroom routines

• Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction

• Using positive behaviour strategies to promote engagement and wellbeing

• Helping create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment

• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

• Compassionate, patient, and child‑centred

• Confident supporting children with autism, SEMH, or other additional needs

• Able to build positive, trusting relationships

• Calm under pressure and adaptable to changing needs

• A strong communicator who works well as part of a team

• Willing to learn and engage in ongoing training
