Classroom Support Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting children and helping them thrive in the classroom?
Milk Education is looking for a Classroom Support Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School based in Bowburn, Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with children who wants to gain valuable school-based experience and become a familiar face in a school that values consistency.
Whether you have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Childcare Practitioner, Youth Worker, Sports Coach or have transferable experience supporting children and young people, we’d love to hear from you.
Main Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with their learning and development
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive communication
- Helping pupils engage positively and consistently in classroom activities
- Supporting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment
- Working alongside teachers and other school staff
- Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality in line with school policies
Requirements & Skills
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or a similar subject, or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, patient and enthusiastic approach
- Genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Recent experience in a school or education setting (preferred)
