Milk Education is working with a number of welcoming and supportive Primary Schools across Hartlepool and the surrounding areas and is looking to recruit caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistants to join schools from September 2026.
Whether you’re an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant, hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, or have recent experience supporting children within an EYFS setting, we’d love to hear from you.
We have a range of long-term, full-time opportunities available, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children’s learning and development, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can thrive and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities in Nursery and Reception.
- Encourage learning through play and child-led exploration.
- Support children’s communication, literacy, numeracy, and social development.
- Observe, record, and monitor children’s progress.
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
- Support children with SEND where required.
- Assist with personal care where necessary.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and school staff.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification is desirable.
- Previous experience working within an EYFS, Nursery, or Reception setting.
- Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
- A caring, patient, and nurturing approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for supporting children during the early stages of their education.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting salary will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
