We’re currently seeking a Support Assistant to join Key Stage 1 in a Primary School based in the North of Durham. This opportunity is great for professionals looking for some real experience in education – either to pursue alongside their studies or to get their foot into the world of teaching.

Support Assistant – Requirements or Skills:
- A real passion for working with children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning
- Understanding of additional needs and how to support them
- Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
Support Assistant – Main Responsibilities:
- Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
- Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
- Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies
