Nursery Assistant

Milk Education are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working and creative Nursery Assistant, able to both care for and support children in an Early Years provision in Newcastle. The successful applicant will be a good team player and have the ability to develop positive behaviour strategies with children, plus have a good understanding of child development and early language acquisition.

The candidate must be willing to work within a research led, reflective nursery provision with children at the heart of the practice. The role will include intimate care of children in the nursery provision. We are keen to meet candidates who are experienced and interested in working with pupils with SEND.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working within a primary school or a nursery setting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working with children in the last 2 years (voluntary experience is fine) 
  • Be passionate about and have experience in SEND

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Planning educational activities
  • Taking care of children’s personal needs
  • Supervising children and ensuring their safety
  • Keeping records up to date
  • Nurturing child development through early childhood education
