Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience managing challenging behaviour and building positive relationships with young people who may have struggled in mainstream education? This could be the perfect opportunity.

Join a specialist education setting in North Leeds, supporting young people aged 11–18 who require additional support with their behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement in education. You’ll work as part of a dedicated team to provide consistency, structure and positive relationships that help young people make meaningful progress.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for young people with SEMH and behavioural needs.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model.
  • Support students to regulate their emotions and manage challenging behaviour.
  • Implement individual behaviour and support strategies consistently.
  • Encourage engagement with learning, routines and wider activities.
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and other professionals to support individual needs.
  • Help create a calm, structured and nurturing environment where young people feel safe and supported.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experienced SEMH, Behaviour, Youth or Education Support professionals.
  • Individuals with experience supporting young people who display challenging or complex behaviour.
  • Confident, patient and resilient people who can remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Strong communicators who understand the importance of boundaries, consistency and positive relationships.
  • Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Youth Workers, Residential Support Workers, Sports Coaches and graduates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience within a specialist, alternative or secure education setting is beneficial but not essential.

What this role offers:

  • Pay: £107.71 – £137.71 per day
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
