Milk Education is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to support secondary schools across Durham and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference to students’ education, confidence and wellbeing while gaining valuable experience within a supportive school environment.

Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 within the classroom
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students access their learning
- Work alongside teachers to support lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Help students overcome barriers to learning and develop greater independence
- Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
- Encourage students to remain engaged, focused and motivated
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students
- Support positive behaviour and follow individual support strategies
- Assist with classroom organisation and learning resources
- Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures
This role is a fantastic opportunity to develop your experience in education, SEND, behaviour support and pastoral care, while making a genuine difference to young people’s day-to-day learning.

Learning Support Assistant Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, caring and supportive approach
- Confidence working with young people
- Ability to adapt to different students and learning needs
- Professional, reliable and positive attitude
- Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential
