We’re currently recruiting for an Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant in Worsley to support a welcoming secondary school on a short-term, long-term or temp-to-perm basis. This SEN Teaching Assistant job in Worsley is ideal for an experienced SEN TA who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and can make an immediate impact in the classroom.

You’ll be joining a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Worsley that places a strong emphasis on inclusion, wellbeing and helping every student overcome barriers to learning. We’re looking for a capable and confident SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong classroom presence who can build positive relationships with pupils and provide consistent, effective support.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis across KS3 and KS4

  • Providing targeted support for pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD and other additional needs

  • Working alongside teachers and the wider SEND team to support learning

  • Delivering intervention and catch-up sessions where appropriate

  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement

  • Helping students develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits

  • Building strong relationships with pupils and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment

Requirements or Skills

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant within a secondary school is essential

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD or behavioural needs

  • Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to manage challenging situations calmly

  • A capable, confident and professional presence when working with secondary-aged pupils

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Childcare, Education or similar is desirable

  • Comfortable working independently while also taking direction from teachers and SEND staff

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
