Milk Education are working with a primary school in North Liverpool who are seeking a full-time SEND Mentor Assistant within a KS2 class. The school is looking for someone patient, nurturing, and accommodating to the child’s learning needs for this SEND Teaching Assistant position.
This 1:1 TA role will involve keeping the child on task and helping build confidence with their learning. You will also be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensuring the child’s needs are met. In this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child.
Teaching Assistant- Role & Responsibilities:
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
- Working closely with a child with autism and meeting his needs
- Supporting the classroom teacher with child engagement and behavior
- Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
Essential Qualifications:
- Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, specifically those with SEND, ideally experience with ADHD
- Must have a passion for education
- Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
- Must be reliable and punctual
