Are you passionate about working with children and have a background in performing arts, drama, dance, theatre or music? Are you looking to use your creativity to inspire young learners in a rewarding Teaching Assistant role?

We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sheffield seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school. This role is ideal for someone with a performing arts background who can use their confidence, creativity and energy to engage children and help them reach their full potential.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to boost confidence and achievement.
  • Use creative approaches, including drama, movement and performance, to enhance learning.
  • Support children with a range of additional needs, including SEND, where required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and school activities.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • A background in performing arts, drama, theatre, dance, music or similar creative disciplines.
  • A genuine passion for working with children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence leading engaging activities and encouraging pupil participation.
  • Patience, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential for candidates with relevant transferable experience.
