Teaching Assistant – Primary (Nottingham)

We’re currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary School in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September.

You’ll be joining an inclusive and welcoming school that values teamwork, consistency and pupil wellbeing. This is a great opportunity for an experienced TA or someone with relevant childcare or education experience looking to build their career within a primary setting.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils across the classroom with their learning
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support
  • Supporting literacy, numeracy and reading activities
  • Assisting the class teacher with lessons and resources
  • Supporting pupils with SEND where required
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and independence
  • Delivering interventions and targeted learning activities
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements or Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children is desirable
  • School or education experience is advantageous
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Education, Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patient, reliable and adaptable approach
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
