SEND Learning Support Assistant

Location: Harrogate
Start: October 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term with permanent potential

Milk Education is recruiting a resilient and compassionate SEND & SEMH Learning Support Assistant to support young people aged 11–16 within a specialist educational setting in Harrogate.

You’ll support pupils with a range of SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs, helping them engage with learning, regulate emotions and build positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.

• Support learning, engagement and emotional regulation.

• Promote positive behaviour and independence.

• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.

• Work closely with teaching staff to meet individual needs.

About You

• Experience with SEND, SEMH, PRU, alternative provision or challenging behaviour is desirable.

• Patient, resilient and confident managing challenging situations.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• TAs, HLTAs, Behaviour Support Workers
