Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rotherham seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their supportive team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and socially.

Whether you’re an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or someone with transferable experience working with children, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils across the primary age range.

  • Work alongside class teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.

  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND, speech and language, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • Adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs.

  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.

  • Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting (desirable).

  • A caring, patient and empathetic approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.

  • A proactive and flexible attitude.

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
