Teaching Assistant

Milk Education are recruiting for a passionate, caring, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nottingham on a long-term basis, starting in September 2026.

You’ll be joining a supportive and inclusive school environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to develop their career within education.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to provide high-quality support to pupils, helping create a positive and engaging learning environment.

What You’ll Be Doing in the Role:

  • Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1, or KS2 with their learning and development
  • Working closely with the class teacher to support lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
  • Supporting pupils with their literacy and numeracy development
  • Delivering targeted interventions and additional learning activities
  • Supporting pupils with SEND and adapting activities to meet individual needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Supporting pupils’ social and emotional development
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents where appropriate
  • Following school safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times

Essential Requirements:

  • Recent experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, or educational setting
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience supporting SEND is desirable but not essential
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification is desirable but not essential
