SEN Teaching Assistant – Enfield

Milk Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant who is committed to helping children with additional needs access education, build confidence and achieve their full potential.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, working closely with class teachers and the SEND team to provide targeted interventions and personalised support. The school has a strong commitment to inclusion and ensures that all pupils are supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant to help children access learning and achieve their individual targets
  • Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
  • Delivering intervention sessions focused on literacy, numeracy and social development
  • Assisting teachers with adapting resources and learning activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and independence
  • Supporting the implementation of EHCP targets and SEND support plans
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker
  • Experience supporting children with SEND within a school, care or youth setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, resilient and nurturing approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
  • Passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential

Essential Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Two professional references covering the last two years
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people
