HLTA / Cover Supervisor – Secondary SEND School

Contract: Full-time, Long-term (with potential for a permanent position)
Milk Education is recruiting a confident and adaptable HLTA / Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming Secondary SEND school in Bradford from September. This specialist setting supports pupils aged 11–19 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Complex Needs, Speech & Language needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA, Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step in a rewarding specialist setting where every day makes a difference.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher.

Support pupils with a range of SEND needs, adapting learning to meet individual abilities.

Maintain a safe, structured and engaging learning environment.

Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure pupils remain engaged and make progress.

Promote positive behaviour using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.

Provide classroom support, small group interventions and occasional one-to-one support where required.

Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Build positive relationships with pupils, families and the wider school team.
About You
-
Previous experience working as a HLTA or Cover Supervisor

Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs is desirable.

Confident managing classroom behaviour and delivering pre-planned lessons.

Patient, resilient and adaptable.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
