SATs Intervention Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools | South Tyneside
We are currently recruiting SATs Intervention Teaching Assistants to support Year 6 pupils in primary schools across South Tyneside. These roles are ideal for experienced TAs who are confident supporting pupils in the lead-up to KS2 SATs and are looking for immediate starts and short- to long-term opportunities.
The Role

Deliver targeted SATs intervention sessions in English and Maths

Work with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis to close learning gaps

Support pupils with reading comprehension, SPaG, writing, and arithmetic
-
Reinforce key exam techniques and build pupil confidence
-
Track progress and feedback to the class teacher
-
Support classroom learning when not delivering intervention sessions

Follow school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour management

Requirements

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in KS2 / Year 6

Strong understanding of KS2 SATs expectations and curriculum

Confidence delivering structured intervention sessions

A patient, encouraging, and motivational approach

Good communication and organisational skills

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
