Teaching Assistant – Primary School

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Rotherham is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play a key role in helping pupils reach their full potential.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to help pupils achieve their learning goals.
  • Provide additional support to children who may need extra guidance, including pupils with SEND where required.
  • Help create a positive, safe and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Encourage children’s confidence, independence and social development.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and daily learning activities.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working with children in a school, nursery or similar setting.
  • Is enthusiastic, patient and caring.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Is flexible, reliable and committed to supporting children’s learning.
  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Two satisfactory references covering the last two years.
  • The Right to Work in the UK.
