EYFS Teaching Assistant

Milk Education is currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Stockton-on-Tees. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and enjoys helping young children develop confidence, curiosity, and essential life skills.

Working alongside experienced teaching staff, you will play a key role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities:

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative Early Years learning activities.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and encourage development.
  • Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encourage children’s social, emotional, and communication skills through play-based learning.
  • Observe pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and learning resources.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support children in developing confidence and independence.

Essential Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Experience working with children within an EYFS or primary school setting.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners.
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
