We are currently recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school conveniently located for candidates in Congleton. This position is available on a long-term basis with a temp-to-perm route for the right candidate.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups as a Teaching Assistant, tailored to their individual learning needs

  • Assisting the class teacher with resource preparation and adapting activities to suit all learning styles

  • Helping to run targeted literacy and numeracy catch-up sessions to close attainment gaps

  • Promoting an encouraging, safe, and inclusive environment for pupils in Congleton

  • Supporting pupils with additional educational needs or SEND where required

Requirements or Skills

  • Recent experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar child-focused role

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent hands-on experience

  • Strong basic literacy and numeracy skills to effectively support primary curriculum delivery

  • A patient, adaptable approach with strong communication skills, ideally suited for a school local to Congleton

  • Ability to follow direction from class teachers while using your own initiative to support children in Congleton

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
