Milk Education are working in partnership with a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Barnet to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve success both academically and personally.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to provide tailored support for pupils across the primary age range. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring children receive the encouragement, guidance and interventions needed to thrive within a caring and inclusive learning environment.

The Role:

  • Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs
  • Providing 1:1 support and small-group interventions throughout the school day
  • Supporting children with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH and learning difficulties
  • Assisting pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their individual learning targets
  • Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and personalised support plans
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND professionals and parents
  • Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and academic development

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker
  • Experience supporting children with SEND within a school, nursery or care setting
  • A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
  • Passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning

Essential Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to Work in the UK
