We are currently recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across a network of Primary Schools in Hartlepool on a range of flexible and long-term placements.
This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build experience within primary education while making a positive impact on pupils’ learning and development. Teaching Assistant main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
- Providing one-to-one and small group intervention sessions to help pupils achieve their learning goals.
- Delivering tailored academic and pastoral support to meet the individual needs of pupils.
- Encouraging an inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and able to participate.
- Assisting with the preparation and adaptation of classroom resources to support high-quality learning.
- Helping to create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes pupil wellbeing.
- Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, engagement, and independence.
- Supporting positive behaviour by following school policies and classroom expectations.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and parents where appropriate to support pupil progress.
- Recording observations and providing feedback to teaching staff when required.
Teaching Assistant requirements or skills:
- Recent experience working within an educational setting.
- Confident literacy and numeracy skills.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (CACHE, Childcare, NNEB) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting children within the classroom.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a school team while following the direction of teaching staff.

This position is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will reflect your qualifications, relevant experience, and the specific requirements of the placement.
