Milk Education are currently recruiting for an experienced PE Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Middlesbrough on a long-term supply basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed teacher to join a supportive school and make a real impact on students’ progress, confidence and enjoyment of physical education.

The Role

As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons across the secondary age range. You will encourage students to develop their physical skills, teamwork, confidence and understanding of healthy lifestyles.

You will be joining a school that values high-quality teaching and positive relationships with students, making this an ideal role for someone who is passionate about education and wants to secure a consistent long-term placement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teaching a broad range of physical activities and sports
  • Supporting students to develop their physical skills and confidence
  • Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with the PE department and wider school staff
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school where appropriate

About You

The successful candidate will be a qualified PE Teacher with a strong understanding of the secondary curriculum and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

You will ideally have:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching PE within a UK secondary school
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, enthusiastic and professional approach
  • A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
