PE Teacher – Greenwich

Milk Education are working in partnership with an ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Greenwich to recruit an enthusiastic PE Teacher for a September start. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate PE Teacher to join a supportive Physical Education department and inspire students to develop their sporting ability, confidence and understanding of health and wellbeing.

The successful PE Teacher will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons across a range of sports and physical activities. The school places a strong emphasis on participation, personal development, teamwork and helping students develop positive attitudes towards physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

The Role:

  • Planning and delivering engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Working as a PE Teacher to motivate students and develop their sporting ability
  • Teaching a broad range of sports and physical activities
  • Supporting students to develop teamwork, leadership and communication skills
  • Preparing pupils for GCSE PE or other examination courses where required
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress effectively
  • Supporting extracurricular clubs, fixtures and wider sporting opportunities
  • Promoting positive attitudes towards exercise, health and wellbeing
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment for all students

The Ideal Candidate:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of sports and physical activities
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to motivate students of different abilities and backgrounds
  • Passion for sport, physical activity and student development
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply

The successful PE Teacher will become part of a collaborative department that is committed to providing students with a broad and engaging Physical Education experience. Essential Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Two professional references covering the last two years
  • Recent experience teaching PE within a UK secondary school
