1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary (Nottingham)

We’re currently recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary School in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September.
You’ll be joining an inclusive school that is committed to ensuring every pupil receives the individual support they need to succeed. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide consistent one-to-one support throughout the school day.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys building positive relationships and helping pupils develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated one-to-one support to a pupil
- Helping the pupil access lessons and participate in classroom activities
- Supporting literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum learning
- Delivering targeted interventions and learning activities
- Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Requirements or Skills:
- Recent experience working with children in a school or education setting
- Previous 1:1 experience is desirable
- Experience supporting SEND or additional needs is advantageous
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
- Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
