Psychology Graduates

Psychology Graduate – Huddersfield & Surrounding Areas

About Us:
Milk Education is more than a supply partner – we’re a community for educators. Join us and gain access to training, personal development opportunities, and ongoing support. We’re currently recruiting for Psychology Graduates who are passionate about working with children and young people to join schools in and around Huddersfield, on a long or short-term basis starting in September.

This role is on a supply basis and could either be Day-2-Day work or a Longer-Term position, depending on your preference.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Psychology Graduates looking to gain valuable hands-on experience within education, particularly those considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, SEND or Pastoral Support.

You’ll be joining supportive and inclusive schools that place pupils’ learning, wellbeing and individual development at the centre of everything they do. It’s a great opportunity to apply your psychology knowledge in a practical educational setting while developing valuable experience working directly with children and young people.

Your main responsibilities will include:
· Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils, helping them engage with learning and develop their confidence.
· Support pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development, using a patient and understanding approach.
· Work closely with class teachers and school staff to support individual pupils and contribute to a positive learning environment.
· Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model and encouraging independence.
· Support pupils who may have SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs, adapting your approach to their individual needs.
· Promote the safety and wellbeing of all pupils by following safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.

Requirements or Skills:
· A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject.
· A genuine passion for working with children and young people and an interest in developing a career within education or psychology.
· Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential – this could include volunteering, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or placement experience.
· A patient, empathetic and resilient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
· Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
· An interest in SEND, SEMH, behaviour and child development would be highly beneficial.
· A good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education practices.
· An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and the Right to Work in the UK.

Benefits:

  • Competitive rates of pay with temp-to-perm routes available.
    • Speedy registration process & fast-track compliance – APSCo Compliance+ accredited for the highest safer recruitment standards.
    • Flexible days and working hours to suit your schedule.
    • Culture-matched placements – we take the time to understand you and find schools that fit your values and strengths.
    • Priority Partnership school network – access to trusted schools who work with us long-term on staffing, enrichment and community initiatives.
    • 5+ CPD courses completed before placement (including Safeguarding, SEND & Behaviour) with access to further accredited training through Milk Academy.
    • FREE PSHE lesson plans and resources, designed by real teachers.
    • FREE Educator Wellbeing resources and access to our community hub – because we believe supported staff stay longer and make a bigger impact.
    • School Preparation Pack with handover notes and insightful school guides – so you walk in ready on day one.
    • 24/7 support from your personal consultant, directly through their work mobile phone to ensure your journey is personal.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
