Milk Education is currently recruiting for a Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in North Durham this September.
You’ll be joining a school community where inclusion, teamwork and putting children first are at the heart of everything they do.
Whether you’re newly qualified with a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or looking to build your classroom experience, we’ll take the time to understand your strengths and help you find the right environment to thrive in.
Your Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to support pupils in their learning, development and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, responding to their individual needs
- Helping deliver engaging, practical and inclusive classroom activities
- Supporting the class teacher with lessons, resources and learning activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
- Helping create a safe and inclusive classroom where every child feels valued
- Providing encouragement and support to help pupils reach their full potential
What We’re Looking For
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare, Education or a related subject is preferred
- Previous experience working with children or within an education setting is preferred
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- A positive, caring and confident approach
- The ability to follow the class teacher’s direction and work effectively as part of a team
- A genuine passion for supporting children to learn, develop and thrive
