Milk Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to work across welcoming Primary Schools in Durham from September 2026.
Whether you’re an experienced TA, graduate, aspiring teacher or someone with valuable experience working with children, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your education career and gain experience across a variety of Primary settings.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
- Helping children with reading, writing and maths.
- Supporting classroom activities and interventions.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning habits.
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.
- Getting involved in creative, practical and enrichment activities.
- Working closely with class teachers and support staff.
- ⭐ Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Building strong and supportive relationships with pupils.
We’re Looking For Someone Who…
- Is positive, patient and enthusiastic.
- Has a genuine passion for helping children learn and develop.
- Is confident communicating with children and staff.
- Can adapt quickly to different classroom environments.
- Has experience in a school, nursery, childcare, tutoring, youth work or similar setting — desirable but not essential.
- Is a graduate, aspiring teacher or experienced Teaching Assistant.
- Has volunteering or placement experience working with children.
- Is reliable, professional and ready to get involved.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
