Milk Education is recruiting a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a specialist autism school in East London. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them to build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a safe and supportive learning environment.

The Role
As an Autism Support Worker, you will work alongside teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Every day will be different as you help pupils engage with learning, develop communication skills, and build positive relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support throughout the school day.
- Supporting pupils with personalised learning activities and structured routines.
- Using visual aids, communication strategies, and sensory approaches to meet individual needs.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent support.
- Assisting with sensory activities and therapeutic interventions where appropriate.
- Supporting personal care where required, always maintaining dignity and respect.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
About You
- Experience working with autistic children or young people is desirable, but experience in SEND, care, youth work, healthcare, or support work is also welcomed.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- The ability to adapt to individual communication styles and learning needs.
- Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
