About the Behaviour Support Assistant Role

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small‑group support to students with behavioural needs
  • Implementing behaviour intervention strategies and support plans
  • Supporting teachers and pastoral teams in maintaining a positive, calm learning environment
  • Using effective de-escalation techniques when needed
  • Building trust and rapport with students to encourage positive behaviour and engagement

✔️ Essential Requirements

To be considered for the Behaviour Support Assistant role, you must have:

  • Previous experience working in a UK secondary school (this is essential)
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • A resilient, supportive, and professional approach
  • A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning
