Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential?

We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Behavioural Mentor to join a supportive educational setting in Salford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can build positive relationships with pupils and provide consistent, nurturing support to improve behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing.

The Role

As a Behavioural Mentor, you will support pupils who may require additional help with their behaviour, emotional regulation, social skills and engagement in education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring to pupils.

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.

  • Supporting pupils to develop strategies to manage their behaviour and emotions.

  • Helping pupils re-engage with learning and the wider school environment.

  • Implementing positive behaviour management strategies.

  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and SEN teams.

  • Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.

  • Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development.

  • Maintaining accurate records of interventions and pupil progress.

  • Promoting a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.

About You

The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced working with children or young people, ideally within an educational, pastoral or support setting.

  • Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and emotional needs.

  • Patient, resilient and empathetic.

  • Able to build strong and professional relationships with pupils.

  • Consistent and confident when implementing behaviour strategies.

  • A positive role model with excellent communication skills.

  • Passionate about helping young people achieve their potential.

Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour would be highly advantageous.
