The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Salford, you’ll work alongside teachers, SEND teams, and pastoral staff to support students across KS3 and KS4. This Secondary Teaching Assistant role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience within supportive secondary schools.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or within the classroom
  • Delivering intervention and catch-up sessions
  • Assisting teachers with classroom learning and behaviour management
  • Supporting students with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs
  • Building positive relationships that encourage confidence, engagement, and academic progress

Graduates with strong subject knowledge in Maths, English or Science are particularly encouraged to apply, although all degree subjects are welcome.

  • A recent university graduate – all degree subjects considered
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, adaptable, and positive attitude
  • Previous experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential
  • Based in or able to commute to Salford
