Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 15:30pm | £107.71 daily rate

We are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work across Primary Schools in North Durham. Learning Support Assistant – Main Responsibilities:

  • Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
  • Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
  • Inspire children to engage in lessons consistently
  • Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies

A Learning Support Assistant plays a vital role in helping pupils thrive both academically and personally. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to support students throughout their educational journey, helping to build their confidence, independence, and engagement with learning. The role primarily involves working with individuals and small groups, providing tailored support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Learning Support Assistant – Requirements or Skills:

  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning
  • Patience and a calm approach to assisting others
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
