Primary Classroom Assistant – Northumberland
Full-Time | Monday to Friday | September 2026 Start
Milk Education is working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Northumberland to appoint a Primary Classroom Assistant for a full-time position starting in September 2026.
You’ll work alongside the class teacher to support learning, encourage positive behaviour and help pupils get the most from their time in school.
Your Responsibilities
- Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities
- Work with individuals and small groups as directed by the teacher
- Assist with literacy, numeracy and curriculum-based activities
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials
- Encourage pupils to participate and develop independence
- Support positive behaviour and classroom routines
- Provide additional assistance to pupils who require it
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable
- A positive, friendly and approachable manner
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Able to work effectively as part of a school team
- Patient and adaptable to different classroom environments
- Passionate about helping children learn and develop
