Year 6 Teacher – Primary (Nottingham)

We’re currently recruiting for a Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming Primary School in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September.
You’ll be joining a supportive and ambitious school that values high expectations, pupil wellbeing and positive relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced KS2 teacher or ECT who is passionate about preparing pupils for secondary school and helping them reach their full potential.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
- Supporting pupils with their transition to secondary education
- Preparing pupils for SATs and ensuring they make strong progress
- Assessing learning and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team
- Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
Requirements or Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Recent primary teaching experience, ideally within Year 6 or KS2
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Experience with SATs preparation is desirable
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Passionate about supporting pupils to achieve their potential

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
