Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Barnsley to recruit a passionate Science Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive department where you’ll inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop scientific knowledge, practical skills, and a lifelong curiosity about the world around them.

This is a full-time position starting in September 2026, ideal for a teacher looking to make a positive impact in a thriving secondary school.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.

  • Monitor, assess and track student progress, adapting your teaching to meet a range of learning needs.

  • Encourage students to develop critical thinking, practical investigation skills and a genuine enthusiasm for Science.

  • Support students to achieve their full potential through creative and engaging teaching.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the continued success of the Science department.

  • Uphold the school’s values while maintaining high professional standards.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Science across KS3 and KS4.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • The ability to inspire, engage and motivate students of all abilities.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or the willingness to obtain one through Milk Education.
