We are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant in Central Bolton to join a welcoming secondary school and sixth form on a temp-to-perm basis. Your Main Responsibilities

Supporting students with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups across KS3, KS4 and Sixth Form

Working closely with class teachers and the SEND department to adapt learning resources and support personalised learning plans

Supporting students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties

Promoting an inclusive, engaging learning environment where every student can thrive

Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour both inside and outside the classroom

Building positive relationships with students, staff and parents to support student progress
Requirements or Skills
-
Recent experience working in a school or education setting

Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is highly desirable

Solid numeracy and literacy skills

A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Education or similar, or equivalent hands-on experience

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

A calm, patient and resilient approach with the ability to adapt to students’ individual needs

Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working collaboratively as part of the wider SEND team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
