SEN Teaching Assistant – Enfield
Milk Education are working in partnership with a highly respected specialist school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their experienced support team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children and young people with complex learning needs and helping them achieve meaningful progress.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to provide personalised support for pupils with a wide range of additional needs. All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with needs including complex learning difficulties, communication and interaction needs, autism, sensory impairments and developmental delays.
The Role:
- Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex SEND needs throughout the school day
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning and developmental targets
- Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
- Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning activities and interventions
- Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement in learning
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals
- Supporting pupils with personal care where required
- Promoting a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Care Worker, Support Worker or Teaching Assistant
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ASD, communication needs or learning difficulties
- Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Essential Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
