1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary (Nottingham)

We’re currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September.
You’ll be joining a supportive and inclusive school that is committed to ensuring every pupil receives the individual support they need to thrive. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent, personalised support throughout the school day.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about SEND and wants to make a genuine difference to a child’s learning, confidence and development.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs
- Supporting the pupil to access lessons and participate in classroom activities
- Following individual support plans and strategies
- Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
- Encouraging independence and confidence
- Supporting positive behaviour and engagement with learning
- Delivering targeted interventions and activities where required
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
- Monitoring progress and providing regular feedback
Requirements or Skills:
- Recent experience working with children or young people
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable
- Experience supporting autism, ADHD or SEMH would be advantageous
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
- Patient, calm and nurturing approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
