Milk Education is seeking caring and dedicated Speech & Language and Communication Support Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary schools and SEND settings in Stockport from September.
We’re looking to connect with Teaching Assistants, SEND professionals, Communication Support Workers and education professionals who have experience supporting children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
This could include supporting pupils with communication difficulties, autism, developmental language needs and other additional needs that impact their ability to communicate and access learning.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with communication needs
- Support pupils with speech, language and communication development
- Deliver or support targeted communication activities and interventions
- Help pupils access classroom learning through appropriate communication strategies
- Build positive relationships and encourage confidence and independence
- Work alongside teachers, SEND teams and other professionals
- Follow individual support plans and contribute to pupil progress
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, speech and language or communication needs
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEND TA, Communication Support Worker or similar
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, encouraging and adaptable approach
- Experience supporting autism or complex needs is desirable
- Relevant SEND, education, speech and language or care qualifications are desirable
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are welcomed
- A genuine interest in helping children develop their communication and learning skills

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
