Milk Education is seeking caring and dedicated Speech & Language Support Assistants to work across a range of schools in South Manchester from September.

We’re looking to connect with experienced Teaching Assistants, SEND professionals, Communication Support Workers and education professionals who have experience supporting children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).

With a wide range of opportunities available, we’re open to speaking with candidates looking for long-term, short-term, part-time, full-time, temporary or permanent positions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children develop their communication skills, build confidence and access learning more successfully.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with speech, language and communication needs
  • Support pupils with communication, interaction and social development
  • Deliver or support targeted communication activities and interventions
  • Adapt classroom activities to help pupils access learning
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage confidence and independence
  • Work alongside teachers, SEND teams and external professionals where appropriate
  • Follow individual support plans and contribute to pupil progress

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND, speech and language or communication needs
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEND TA, Communication Support Worker or similar
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, encouraging and adaptable approach
  • Experience supporting autism or other additional needs is desirable
  • Relevant SEND, education, speech and language or care qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are welcomed
  • A genuine interest in helping children develop their communication and learning skills

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
