About the Role

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children by supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing in a nurturing school environment.

Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team, you will help create an engaging, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every child can achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences across the primary curriculum.

  • Work with individuals and small groups of pupils to reinforce learning and develop confidence.

  • Assist in preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment.

  • Support pupils with a range of learning, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

  • Encourage positive behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.

  • Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils can access learning opportunities.

  • Supervise pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and school activities where required.

  • Contribute to assessment by providing feedback on pupil progress.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development.

  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with primary-aged children in a school or similar setting (desirable).

  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Is patient, positive, and enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning.

  • Can work effectively as part of a team and use their own initiative.

  • Is committed to inclusion, equality, and achieving the best outcomes for every child.

  • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
