A welcoming primary school in Worksop is seeking an enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to support children across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 while making a real difference to their learning, confidence and development.

Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant or hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to support learning and development.

  • Provide targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy and phonics.

  • Help create a positive, safe and nurturing classroom environment.

  • Support pupils with varying learning needs, including those with SEND where required.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Assist with classroom preparation and day-to-day learning activities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).

  • Has previous experience working within a UK primary school.

  • Is confident supporting children across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.

  • Has a caring, patient and positive approach.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Is flexible, reliable and committed to helping every child succeed.

  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience delivering phonics interventions (Read Write Inc., Little Wandle or similar).

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.

  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum.

  • First Aid qualification (desirable but not essential).
