Teaching Assistant – BL4

We’re currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in BL4 on a day-to-day, short-term or long-term basis, starting in September.

You’ll be joining a supportive, inclusive school with a strong focus on pupil wellbeing, positive relationships and community. The school is committed to creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their very best.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to develop their career in education to become a familiar face within a welcoming school community.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils across the classroom, both individually and in small groups

• Working closely with the class teacher to support engaging and effective learning

• Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and academic skills

• Supporting children with additional needs and adapting activities where appropriate

• Assisting with classroom preparation, resources and learning activities

• Promoting positive behaviour and creating a calm, inclusive learning environment

• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and encouraging them to reach their full potential

Requirements or Skills:

• Recent experience working within a school or education setting is desirable

• A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them succeed

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• A patient, nurturing and positive approach to supporting pupils

• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Education, Childcare or a similar subject is desirable

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be advantageous

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
