Milk Education is working with a primary school in Leigh (WN7) that is seeking a full-time Year 2 Teaching Assistant to support in their Year 2 class; this will be 1-2-1 and general support.

This role starts in September 2026 and will be temporary until February 2027;  there is potential for this role to continue after February half-term,

For this Year 2 Teaching Assistant role the School are looking for someone patient, nurturing and accommodating to all children’s learning needs for this Year 2 Teaching Assistant position. The hours of work are 08:30 am- 15:30, Monday to Friday.

This Year 2 Teaching Assistant role will involve keeping the children on task and ensuring that the work they are doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensuring the children’s needs are being met. In this Year 2 Teaching Assistant role, you will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for all children.

Teaching Assistant- Role & Responsibilities:

  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
  • Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
  • Deliver catch-up sessions

Teaching Assistant Level- Non-negotiables:

  • Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, within the past two years
  • Must have a passion for education
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
  • Must be reliable and punctual
